Multi-band structure of a coupling constant for quantum bound states of a generalized nonlinear Schrodinger model

Abstract

Using Bethe ansatz we study N-body bound states of a generalized nonlinear Schrodinger model with two coupling constants c and eta. We find that bound states exist for all values of c but only within certain ranges (called bands) of eta. These ranges are governed by Farey sequences in number theory. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V.
