This picture from the movie "The Wall" reflects the mood I am mostly in. Mostly my life can be described as placid--intermixed with periods of extreme obsession. Oh, by the way, I haven't told you yet that I am scientist by profession! The place where I am at at the present moment is the Inter-University Center for Astronomy and Astrophysics ( IUCAA) in Pune. As you can imagine, it is a dull and dismal place. But gloom goes well with the kind of existence I am used to. I have been in this place for quite a long time. Well, too long anyway :-) I am making a move to the Institute of Astronomy IoA in the near future where I will rot for another couple of years.

Like I was saying, Scientist's are dull people. They are duller than the books they write. There language is corrupted by all the crappy jargon which they get hooked to in the name of science. But science itself is a lot of fun. So in these pages I will like to tell you a little about how science works and how beautiful it is in a few short essays.

I play the guitar. I fell in love with this instrument early in my childhood but did not get around to learning it seriously till I was twenty. Learning is a continuous and never ending process. But I would like to share some of this stuff with you If you would like to know what keeps me going then check out my hobbies section.
