@article{ISI:000174159000007, abstract = {With a brief introduction to one-dimensional channels and conductance quantization in mesoscopic systems, we discuss some recent experimental puzzles in these systems, which include reduction of quantized conductances and an interesting odd-even effect in the presence of an in-plane magnetic field. We then discuss a recent non-homogeneous Luttinger liquid model proposed by us, which addresses and gives an explanation for the reduced conductances and the odd-even effect. We end with a brief summary and discussion of future projects.}, author = {Lal, S and Raw, S and Sen, D}, doi = {10.1007/s12043-002-0007-z}, issn = {0304-4289}, journal = {PRAMANA-JOURNAL OF PHYSICS}, month = {FEB}, note = {International Discussion Meeting on Mesoscopic and Disordered Systems, BANGALORE, INDIA, DEC 18-20, 2000}, number = {2}, pages = {205-216}, researcherid-numbers = {Lal, Siddhartha/A-1414-2013}, times-cited = {0}, title = {Transport in quantum wires}, unique-id = {ISI:000174159000007}, volume = {58}, year = {2002} }
